Council (YAC) website!
This
is our online home so that you can find out
about YAC and keep in the know with happenings
in South Australia for youth members.
Our
website has many great features and we hope
you explore the website and use them all! Some
sections we recomend you check are the Online
Forum, where you can have your say on youth
issues, and also The YAC Team, so you can see
who is representing you to the bosses of scouting!
What
is the Youth Advisory Council?
The YAC (Youth Advisory Council for Scouting
in South Australia) is a group of aware Youth
members who want to make a difference in Scouting
by helping it to improve.
The
YAC makes changes by finding issues, discussing
them, and then making recomendations to the
relevant people. If there is an issue you would
like the YAC to work on, send it in or speak
to any YAC member you will see at most major
events, you can't miss them, just look for the
bright orange jumpers and hats!
Who
can belong to the YAC?
ANYONE who is a current Youth Member
of Scouts Australia (SA Branch).
The
group consists of Youth members including Rovers,
Venturers and Scouts from various districts
in SA. We have new members applying all the
time. So if you are under the age of 25 and
a registered member of Scouting SA, you are
eligble to join YAC.
Want to join YAC?
We are always keen to have new members in YAC,
and we encourage anyone who is interested to
come along and have a look, then join if they
like what they see (or even if you don't like
what you see, join and change it!)
All
you need to do is email us (yac@sa.scouts.com.au)
or download the application form from our website,
fill it in and send it to Damain Flavel, who
is the Branch Commisioner for YAC.

You
must make sure you are currently a registed
member of Scouts Australia. You will also need
to be in contact with you District Commissioner
or Group Leader.
We
hope you join up, as we are always keen to have
more people helping out and bring new points
of view and ideas to the YAC!

YAC
is working on the compilation and publication
of a Youth Based magaizine which will be home
delivered to all Joey-Venturer age memebers.
Look
out for the next edition in your letterbox
in early 2008.

of Loyalty Review
YAC
has been working on a proposal to see the Act
of Loyalt back bigger and better than ever.
If you would like to know more simply read our
